#1 |
Well, Im Ian, and Im 14. This is my first year on twin tips. Im aobut 5'1 to 5'2, with 143cm Line Chronics, I like having them short. Im just barely starting on park. I can do boxes and some slide rails, I can clear all but the biggest jump in the terain park I go to, and I can spin fine, I dont even have to think about 180's any more, which might not sound like much, but its my first time ever. So any tips on 360's? I tried them off a small park the other day, and got about 300 degrees, flailed like crazy, and didnt land them. I REALLY want to get them down. Are jumps that send you a bit lowere, but pretty far better, or ones that pop you up pretty high better for rotations? How much air in tersm of hight/clearance should I be getting to try them? And how do you focus? I know its all about just getting comfortable with it through experience, but as I ski up to the lip and prewind, I just forget everything and get about half way around and then just collaps because Im nervous. It never hurts bad, I just hate screwing up in front of so many people and I dunno I guess air makes most people nervous the first few times. So , sorry I wrote so much, but I really want to lear. Any tips? How many tries did it take you guys? How did you learn? How much air do you need? Ahh!! so many questions!

worry about getting your head and shoulders around aim your landing with your eyes but they should be STRAIGHT ahead.

Thanks, by the way, when should I start rotating? Since Im a beginner and therfore will rotate much more slowly than someone with practice, should I start wipping my body out of my prewind as soon as I hit the lip? Or wait on until I have some solid air before starting? Because when I try a 360, I tend to focus on that, and not the air, and as a result dont get nearly as much as if I was just hitting it with a grab or something. Thanks in advance, Ian

it really depends on the size of jump if its small then i have to prewind some to get around. if its a larger hit then just set your spin as you come off the lip no need to prewind and lead with your head. you first spins will most likely be really penciled after you get a few penciled ones down start working on style try bringing your knees to chest while spinning

bringing your knees up a little bit will make you more stable while spinning, try to learn on a 15-20 ft jump and it sounds silly but practice just jumping and spinning on dry land in tennis shoes to train your muscle memory and build your core stabilizers. you'll do it in no-time and it'll feel awesome.
